Tejon Ranch

Originally established in 1843 as a Mexican land grant, Tejon Ranch has grown in the years to span over Los Angeles and Kern Counties with a holding of over 280,000 acres.  When the Ranch was initially considering development, FORMA was instrumental in setting up the Ranch’s GIS mapping system (Geographic Information System).  As part of these efforts, a ranch-wide suitability analysis was developed to identify areas of development opportunities and open space preservation opportunities.  In addition to ranch-wide efforts, FORMA was Master Planner and entitlement author for Tejon Mountain Village, covering over 5,000 acres.  Approved by the Kern County Board of Supervisors for 3,450 homes ranging from 20 acre ranchettes to traditional family homes.  Along with commercial uses, there will be a hotel and Tejon Lake surrounded by open space.  Tejon Mountain Village provides for a ‘Montana Lifestyle’ within an hour from Los Angeles.
